Asus UK has added two new notebooks to their Bamboo series. The Asus U33 and U53 sport a smoky-brown bamboo chassis with brushed aluminum interior. "asus u33"

The 13.3 inch Asus U33 and the 15.6 inch Asus U53 are both available with Intel’s Core i5-430M processor and GeForce 310M discrete graphics with 1GB of video memory. They also feature the NVIDIA Optimus technology for automatically switching between the integrated GMA 4500MHD graphics and the discrete NVIDIA graphics.

Both models feature 1 USB 3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA, 4GB of DDR3 memory, 2 megapixel webcam, Ethernet and audio in/out. While the U33 has a 500GB hard drive, U53 comes with a larger 640GB hard drive and a DVD burner. The notebooks run Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Asus claims that the U33 and U53 will get around 10 hours of battery life.

Pricing and availability
The Asus U33 and U53 notebooks are now available for purchase. While the U53 has a starting price of £849 ($1,297), the U53 is going for £899 ($1,373) in the UK.
