The Asus UL20FT thin and light notebook will start shipping in August. Excaliber PC has started taking pre-orders for a model called Asus UL20FT-A1. It is going for $579.

The Asus UL20FT is a 12.1 inch notebook with a 1366 x 768 pixel display. It is the successor to the UL20A. Both notebooks ship with 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium. But while the UL20A has an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 CULV processor, the UL20FT features the 1.2GHz Core i3-330UM with Turbo Boost technology.

The notebook also has 3 USB ports, headphone and mic jacks, a 0.3 megapixel webcam, a 5-in-1 card reader, Gigabit Ethernet and WiFi 802.11b/g/n WiFi. It weighs 3.3 pounds with the 6-cell, 4400mAh battery.
