Acer has updated its Aspire TimelineX 1830T thin and light laptops with Intel’s new Core i-Series processors. The new and improved Aspire TimelineX 1830T is available with your choice of an Intel Core i3, Core i5 or i7 processor. The notebook originally shipped with Intel Core 2 processors.

The Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830T has an 11.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The laptop measures 1.1 inches in thickness and weighs around 3.1 pounds. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium.

Three configurations seem to be available. The base configuration with a 1.2GHz Intel Core i3 processor, a 5800mAh battery, a 320GB hard drive and 3GB of RAM is now listed at Amazon for $599.99.
The $699.99 model
will get you a 1.2GHz Core i5 processor, 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive.

The top-of-the-line model is listed at $899.99. It has a 1.46GHz Intel Core i7-680 ULV processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive. This model doesn’t seem to be in stock at the moment.

All three models have 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI, VGA, and 3 USB 2.0 ports and a 1.3MP webcam

Lenovo has refreshed its ThinkPad Edge line of notebooks. The newest addition to the family is the 11.6 inch Edge 11.

The new ThinkPad Edge 11 is available with AMD’s single and dual core Nile processors, as well as Intel’s Core i3 and i5 processors. The notebook won’t make its US debut anytime soon. Apparently, the ThinkPad X100e will continue to be the 11 inch ThinkPad for Americans.

Other specifications include an HDMI output, full-size, spill-proof ThinkPad keyboard, webcam, WiFi, optional 3G or 4G / WiMAX3 with Qualcomm Gobi technology, 3 USB ports and a 4-in-1 media card reader

The ThinkPad Edge 11-inch laptop will be available in three colors – Midnight Black Glossy, Midnight Black Smooth and Heatwave Red Glossy.

Pricing
The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 11 with AMD processors will start at $450. The Intel version will have a starting price of $550.

OCZ Technology has launched its new Onyx 2 range of affordable SSDs. The OCZ Onyx 2 Solid State Disks are available in 120GB and 240GB capacities.

These SandForce-based drives offer read speeds up to 270MB/s and write speeds up to 265MB/s write. They also offer up to 10,000 random write IOPS (4k aligned). Better still, they are cheaper than similar multi-level cell (MLC)-based solutions.

Pricing
The OCZ Onyx 2 120GB SSD is listing for $189.99. The 240GB model runs $439.99.

The Gigabyte T1125 convertible tablet style netbook will reportedly go on sale in Taiwan today. The Gigabyte T1125 has an Intel Core 2010 series processor, gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 ports and a touchscreen display that can be folded down over the keyboard. Other specifications include an optical drive.

No word on pricing at the moment. Meanwhile, the rumored ‘iPad rival’ tablet is unlikely to hit the streets until early 2011. Few details are available about this machine at the moment, but Gigabyte had earlier said that its tablet would rival iPad.

LG has unveiled a new 3D notebook. The company claims that its Xnote A510 is the world’s first near full HD 3D notebook. The LG A510 has a 15.6 inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The laptop uses polarized 3D glasses to convert 2D content into 3D.

The LG Xnote A510 will be available with a range of CPU options including the following: Core i7 CPU 840QM and 740QM; Core i5 580M, 560M, and 460M; and Core i3 380M and 370M. Other specifications include up to 4GB of RAM, 640GB of storage, NVIDIA GT425M graphics with 1GB of RAM, TruSurround HD sound and an LED fingerprint reader for security.
The notebook will arrive in blue-black and champagne gold colors.

Pricing and availability
The LG A510 will be available in Asia, South America, Middle East, and Africa in October. No word on pricing or availability in the US.
