The Gateway NV51B08u is a budget-friendly 15.6 inch notebook based on AMD’s new Fusion APU. It is now available for purchase for just $349.99.

The Gateway NV51B08u has a single core AMD C-50 1GHz processor that comes bundled with ATI Radeon HD 6250 graphics. Other specifications include 3GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, WiFi 802.11n, 3 USB ports, a media card reader, DVD burner, webcam and Gigabit LAN. There is also an HDMI port for transferring video to an external monitor.

Gateway says that the NV51B08u will get up to ’4 hours and 42 minutes’ of battery life. The notebook runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit operating system and has a 1366 x 768 pixels display.

The best thing about the Gateway NV51B08u is its irresistible price tag. It doesn’t cost much more than a 10 inch netbook, but has a larger display, 3GB of RAM and powerful Radeon graphics. However, bear in mind that in overall performance the AMD C-50 Ontario processor isn’t much better than the dual core Atom N550 processor. On the bright side, the Radeon graphics that comes bundled with the C-50 chip is comparable to NVIDIA ION. That means you will be able to play 1080p HD video. So if your computing needs are somewhat basic, but you don’t like a laptop with a small display, then the Gateway NV51B08u is definitely worth considering.

Gateway has just rolled out a new 11.6 incher in Japan. The new Gateway EC19C-A52C/S has an Intel Core i5-470UM processor. It also has a 320GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM and an HD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Other specifications include HDMI / VGA outputs, Ethernet, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 4-in-1 card reader, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and a six-cell battery that will reportedly get around 6 hours of battery life.

The Gateway EC19C-A52C/S runs Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) operating system. It will soon go on sale in Japan for the local equivalent of $775. No word on pricing or availability in the US.

Gateway has launched the NV59C66u notebook with integrated WiMAX connectivity. The notebook ships with Intel Centrino Advanced-N+WiMAX 6250 wireless card which provides connection to both WiMAX and Wi–Fi networks.

Detailed specifications of the NV59C66u are not available at the moment, but the Gateway NV59 series has 15.6 inch notebooks with Intel’s Core i3 and i5 processors, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 640 GB storage, Intel integrated HD graphics and optional Blu-ray.

Pricing and availability
The WiMAX-enabled Gateway NV59C66u is now available for purchase. Prices start at $699.99.

The Gateway LT22 netbook is now available for purchase in Canada. It is priced at Canadian $350. In terms of looks, the LT22 isn’t different from the LT32, but it has a smaller chassis and a smaller keyboard.

The Gateway LT22 is a rebranded version of the Acer Aspire One 521. It is powered by a 1.7Ghz AMD Athlon II Neo K125 processor and runs Windows 7 Starter Edition. The 10.1 inch display has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Other specifications include a 6-cell battery, a 250GB hard drive, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and built-in webcam.

No word on a US launch date or pricing.

Gateway will reportedly launch 4 new NS series notebooks later this month. The laptops will have screen sizes ranging between 11.6 inches and 15.6 inches. They will be available with your choice of Core i3, i5 and i7 processors.

Gateway NS10
The smallest among the four is the Gateway NS10. It has an 11.6 inch HD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The NS10 will be available with several CPU options including the Core i3-330UM, core i5-430UM, Core i5-520UM, and Core i5-540UM. Other specifications include up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 640GB HDD or up to 160GB SSD, Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, multi-card reader and optional USB optical drive. Both 3-cell and 6-cell battery options are available.

Gateway NS30
The Gateway NS30 has a 13.3 inch display. It has an 8X DVD-Super Multi double layer drive and Intel’s i7 processor.

Gateway NS41
The NS41 has a 14 inch LED-backlit display. It runs Windows 7 Professional and is available with Core i3, i5 or i7 processors.

Gateway NS51
The Gateway NS51 has a 15.6 inch Ultrabright LED-backlit display with a native resolution of 16:9. Other specifications include Windows 7 Professional, multi-card reader and optical drive. The keyboard is full size and features a dedicated numeric pad. The NS51 will reportedly get around 11.5 hours of battery life thanks to the Ultrabright technology that reduces power consumption by up to 33%.

All notebooks in the Gateway NS series have a 1,280 x 1,024 resolution webcam. They also come pre-loaded with Adobe Reader 9.1, Norton Internet Security and Online Backup and Microsoft Office Ready SP2.

Pricing and availability
The Gateway NS series notebooks are expected to hit the market in mid-July. No word on pricing at the moment.
