edgeThe Entourage Edge is a dual-screen hybrid device. It has a 9.7 inch e-Ink display which makes it an eBook reader. It also has a 10 inch touch-screen display which kind of makes the device a netbook or a tablet. The machine is powered by a low power Marvell processor and comes with integrated Wi-Fi.

The Edge runs Google Android which is more powerful than regular eBook reader operating systems. It is not yet out in the market, but some prototypes have emerged.

The Entourage Edge is targeted at students. The LCD display is intended to be a digital substitute for textbooks. And students can highlight text and scribble notes on the e-Ink display which kind of acts as a notebook. It is also possible to copy black and white images from the e-Ink display to the color LCD display.

The Edge eBook reader is compatible with both PDF and EPUB files. It has two built-in mics. One of them is used for recording lectures while the other cancels background noises to make the recorded audio audible.

The Entourage Edge is expected to be out in February. It will go for around $490.
