Gateway announces NS10, NS30, NS41 and NS51 notebooks
Gateway will reportedly launch 4 new NS series notebooks later this month. The laptops will have screen sizes ranging between 11.6 inches and 15.6 inches. They will be available with your choice of Core i3, i5 and i7 processors.
Gateway NS10
The smallest among the four is the Gateway NS10. It has an 11.6 inch HD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The NS10 will be available with several CPU options including the Core i3-330UM, core i5-430UM, Core i5-520UM, and Core i5-540UM. Other specifications include up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 640GB HDD or up to 160GB SSD, Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, multi-card reader and optional USB optical drive. Both 3-cell and 6-cell battery options are available.
Gateway NS30
The Gateway NS30 has a 13.3 inch display. It has an 8X DVD-Super Multi double layer drive and Intel’s i7 processor.
Gateway NS41
The NS41 has a 14 inch LED-backlit display. It runs Windows 7 Professional and is available with Core i3, i5 or i7 processors.
Gateway NS51
The Gateway NS51 has a 15.6 inch Ultrabright LED-backlit display with a native resolution of 16:9. Other specifications include Windows 7 Professional, multi-card reader and optical drive. The keyboard is full size and features a dedicated numeric pad. The NS51 will reportedly get around 11.5 hours of battery life thanks to the Ultrabright technology that reduces power consumption by up to 33%.
All notebooks in the Gateway NS series have a 1,280 x 1,024 resolution webcam. They also come pre-loaded with Adobe Reader 9.1, Norton Internet Security and Online Backup and Microsoft Office Ready SP2.
Pricing and availability
The Gateway NS series notebooks are expected to hit the market in mid-July. No word on pricing at the moment.
