HP showed off a Classmate PC netbook prototype at Computex this week. The device was running SUSE Linux 11. The HP Mini Classmate seems to be based on Intel’s Classmate PC reference design.

The HP Mini Classmate has a 10 inch display. It is powered by an Intel Atom processor. Other specifications include Ethernet jack,VGA port, a flash card reader, 2 USB ports, headphone and mic jacks. The netbook has a thick plastic case and a built-in handle for carrying it around easily. No word on pricing or availability at the moment.
