Intel HD graphics to support 3D soon, 30 more WiDi laptops coming
Intel HD integrated graphics solutions will start supporting 3D this summer which means that you will be able to watch Blu-ray Stereoscopic 3D movies on your laptop powered by an Intel Core 2010 processor and integrated HD graphics. No discrete graphics card is necessary. It is still unclear whether the 3D support will come in the form of a firmware update or all-new hardware. That said, the 3D supporting Intel GMA HD graphics is not meant for competing with NVIDIA’s 3D Vision.
At Computex, Intel also said that its Wireless Display (WiDi) technology will soon become available on 30 new laptops. The Intel WiDi technology lets you stream pictures and videos from your laptop to a nearby HDTV wirelessly.
