Is JooJoo a Better Alternative to Apple iPad
Fusion Garage has redesigned the user interface of its upcoming JooJoo tablet. The navigation menus are now more finger-friendly and make the tablet easier to use.
The company plans to start shipping the 12 inch tablet on March 25th. Incidentally the Apple iPad will also start shipping at around this time. So is JooJoo an attractive alternative to iPad?
JooJoo is basically a tablet designed for surfing the web. It has an Atom N270 processor and ION graphics. Unlike iPad it can’t run the numerous iPhone applications. Still it can do a lot of things that iPad can’t. For instance, it can play Flash video as well as H.264 HD video stored locally on a USB drive. iPad can’t play Flash video simply because it doesn’t support Flash.
The biggest problem JooJoo faces is probably its relatively high $499 price tag. Agreed, the iPad also starts at $499, but it is coming from the illustrious Apple stable and is capable of running numerous third party applications. JooJoo can’t boast of an impressive apps pool and it is built by a relatively unknown company. Won’t you think twice before buying a gadget from a company you haven’t heard before?

Hell, I am thinking about buying it now. Just hope that since its running a Linux OS I will eventually be able to load up an eBook reader or a comic reader.
