The recently unveiled Lenovo IdeaPad U160 is an 11.6 inch ultraportable notebook measuring less than an inch in thickness.

At $699, the IdeaPad U160 is pricier than the IdeaPad U150. On the plus side it has got better hardware. The notebook is available with your choice of an Intel Celeron, Pentium, Core i3, i5 or i7 processors. As for the operating system, the U160 is available with Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium editions.

Other features include up to 4GB of RAM, up to 500GB of hard drive storage, 802.11b/g or 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth (optional), and 3G connectivity (optional).

There are 3USB ports, an eSATA port, VGA, HDMI, 5-in-1 card reader, 1.3 megapixel webcam, headphone and mic jacks. The 11.6 inch display has 1366 x 768 pixels.

Both 3-cell and 6-cell battery options are available. Lenovo claims that the 6-cell battery will power the laptop for up to 7 hours.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U160 is expected to be available in June. Prices start at $699
