Lenovo plans to discontinue the 13 inch ThinkPad X301 and replace it with the 14 inch T410s by the end of this year. Apparently the company thinks that the T400 series can offer more powerful CPU and graphics at a similar level of portability but much lower price.

And that is true. There is a difference of around $980 between the T410s and the X301 base models.
