OCZ R2 Z-Drive SSDs Hit Speeds Up to 1.4GB/s
California-based OCZ Technology have announced their decision to begin the mass production of their Z-Drive R2 Solid State Drive Series. The OCZ Z-Drive SSDs are one of the first major PCI-Express Solid State Drives available on the market, and have set several speed records as well.
The R2 is the second rendition of the original Z-Drive series. It provides improved performance and design flexibility because of the implementation of a series of optimized NAND modules.
In addition, the Z-Drive R2 is the only bootable and field serviceable PCIe SSD available on the market now. It can reach speeds up to 1.4GB/s and will be available in capacities ranging from 256GB to 2TB. No word on pricing.
