"sandisk issd"The just launched SanDisk integrated solid state disk (iSSD) is smaller than a postage stamp and lighter than a paper clip. It is available in capacities ranging from 4GB to 64GB.

The SanDisk iSSD isn’t all that smaller than a standard SDHC card. In fact it is much larger than a microSD card. But what makes these disks special is the fact that they are integrated SSDs which means that they can be used as the main storage option in netbooks and tablets.

The new SanDisk iSSDs reach read speeds of up to 160MB/s and write speeds up to 100MB/s. At these speeds they are much faster than removable flash drives.

SanDisk says that the new drives are currently being tested by OEMs. Real products using these disks are expected to start shipping soon.
