The Asus Eee PC 1201PN product page has gone live. The 12 inch notebook has also started showing up at additional retailers.

The Eee PC 1201PN has a 12.1 inch HD display with 1366 x 768 pixels. It is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor and NVIDIA ION 2 graphics. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium. Other features include 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, VGA and HDMI output. The notebook comes standard with a 6-cell, 47Whr battery.

The ION graphics will give the machine enough power to handle 1080p HD video. You will also be able to play some 3D video games. That said, don’t expect this machine to deliver lightning fast performance.The Eee PC 1201PN has an Atom N450 processor which is designed to get good battery life, and not snappy performance. So for most tasks, the notebook won’t feel any faster than a typical netbook.

The Eee PC 1201PN is now up for order. Prices start at $499.

At long last, Asus has officially launched its Eee PC 1201PN. The company has been showing off this 12 inch notebook with next-gen NVIDIA ION graphics for several months. And now it is available for pre-order in Germany for 479 Euros or about $608 US.

The Eee PC 1201PN has a 12.1 inch display with 1366 x 768 pixels. It is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor with next-gen NVIDIA ION graphics. The ION graphics will give the machine enough power to handle 1080p HD video playback and some 3D graphics. The notebook also  comes pre-loaded with the ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater, a media player which when coupled with the NVIDIA ION graphics card offers hardware video acceleration. Other features include WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, 5.1 channel audio and HDMI output.

No word on pricing or availability in the US, but the laptop should be cheaper when it hits this part of the world.

Asus introduced three new laptops this week. The machines dubbed Eee PC 1201pN, Eee PC 1018P and Eee PC 1016P may sound like updates to existing versions but feature distinctive specs and case design.

Asus Eee PC 1201PN
The Eee PC 1201PN looks like the Eee PC 1201N. It sports a 12.1 inch display. While the 1201N has a dual core Atom 330 processor and NVIDIA ION graphics, the 1201PN sports a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor and next-gen NVIDIA ION graphics. Other specifications include 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and HDMI output. The 12.1 inch display features 1366 x 768 pixels. The notebook will ship with a 6-cell battery rated at 63Whr.

Asus Eee PC 1018P
The Eee PC 1018P has a 10.1 inch display with 1024 x 600 pixels. It is available with a choice of 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 or 1.83GHz Atom N475 processors. These processors support DDR3 memory. Other features include 1GB of RAM, a 160GB/250GB hard drive, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 3.0 ports and integrated 3G modem (optional). This model will ship with a 44Whr battery. The Eee PC 1018P features a brushed aluminum chassis. It measures just 0.71? in thickness.

Asus Eee PC 1016P
The Eee PC 1016P may look like the 1018P, but these two models are distinctively different in the specs department. The Eee PC 1016P has Bluetooth 3.0 and WiMAX capabilities. It is available with a choice of a 47Whr battery or a higher capacity 63Whr battery. This model is powered by either an Intel Atom N450 or N455 processor. Other specifications include 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB/250GB hard drive. It has a 10.1 inch display with 1024 x 600 pixels. This model also has an aluminum chassis.
