<p>Digitimes report that Intel will launch its Atom N570 processor in February. On the Intel website, there is still no mention of this processor &#8211; the only processor listed in the N500 family is the 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550.<br />
It is not clear what makes the N570 different from the N550. It will probably have a faster clock speed. Netbook News reports that it will clock at 1.6GHz.</p>

</script></div><p>Meanwhile, Lenovo has already announced that the Atom N570 will be one of the processor options available with its IdeaPad S100. Right now, I don&#8217;t see any other PC maker announcing a laptop with this processor. However, Digitimes report that Lenovo, Asus and Samsung will all introduce computers with the new processor in March.</p>
<p>In related news, Intel is expected to launch its next-generation Cedar Trail and Oak Trail chips later this year. These processors are expected to deliver a significant improvement over the Pine Trail processors currently powering most netbooks.</p>

<div>In related news Intel has announced that it will launch the Atom N500 dual-core processor in June this year. The N500 is regarded as the first dual-core mobile processor based on the 32nm process. This third generation Atom processor is expected to offer better performance than the existing line of single core Atom processors while at the same time keeping energy requirements  low.</div>
