Engadget has got a review of the Asus Eee PC 1008P Karim Rashid Edition. The Eee PC 1008P is one of the thinnest netbooks in the market. It measures just 1 inch in thickness.

The folks at Engadget are quite impressed with the design of the netbook. They, however, found the battery life to be subpar. Apparently, the netbook lasted for just 3 hours and 20 minutes in a video rundown test. The Eee PC1005PE had lasted over 8 hours in the same test.

The Eee PC 1008P is powered by Intel Atom N450 processor. The netbook runs Windows 7 Home Premium. Other specifications include a 320GB hard drive, a 2GB of RAM and a removable battery. It is available in hot pink or chocolate brown and sports an attractive designer lid which is said to have been inspired by crocodiles.

At around $499, the 1008P costs significantly more than its siblings such as the Eee PC 1005PE. But you do get Windows 7 Home Premium, more storage, more RAM and a designer lid for your money. Still it would have been better if the netbook shipped with a higher capacity battery.
