The Engadget team found the notebook to be very sturdy. The keyboard may not be the best you would find on an ultraportable, but it shows absolutely no flex at all. The glossy screen is bright and good, but reflections may be a problem while working in bright settings.

The LG X300 will start shipping internationally this month.

LG will launch its thin and light X300 notebook in Asia and South America this month. The device was first seen at CES in January.

The LG X300 is an 11.6 inch notebook with a high resolution 1366 x 768 pixels display. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium. LG ships the notebook with a 2-cell battery, plus a spare battery. When combined the batteries are expected to power the laptop for up to 7 hours.

The LG X300 has a fanless design which would make the laptop incredibly quiet. It is powered by a power efficient 2GHz Intel Atom processor based on the Menlow platform. Other specifications include a built-in 3G module and a 128GB Solid State Drive. The X300 measures less than 0.7 inches in thickness and weighs around 2.1lbs.

Pricing and availability
No word on US pricing or availability yet. But Engadget reports that the notebook will go for the equivalent of $1424 in Korea. At that price, the LG X300 is certainly pricier than similar ultraportable laptops.

The notebook is impressively thin and light: It weighs just 970g and measures 17.6mm in thickness.

The LG X300 has a reflective keyboard and a borderless touchpad. Both of them work pretty well. Up to 2GB of RAM can be installed. Other features include a 1.3mega pixel webcam, built-in 3G modem, Wi-Fi and a solid state drive for storage. The notebook will ship with a spare 2-cell battery. Together the batteries are expected to power the laptop for up to 7 hours.

The LG X300 will come pre-loaded with LG’s Smart Pack software which will synchronize your smartphone and the notebook via Bluetooth. As a result of this you will be able to read and reply to your text messages directly from the notebook.

LG plans to release the notebook worldwide in February. However, there is still no word on pricing.
