The 15.6 inch MSI FX600 is now available for purchase in the US. The desktop-replacement laptop boasts of the high-end THX sound system and a checkered exterior with anti-fingerprint coating.

The FX600 is powered by a 2.66GHz Intel Core i5 450M processor with NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M discrete graphics. Other specifications include a 500GB hard drive, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, DVD burner, 2 USB 2.0 ports, LAN, 720p HD webcam, VGA port, 4-in-1 card reader and a 6-cell battery.

Like most other MSI notebooks, the FX600 also features the company’s Turbo Drive Engine technology that would provide a quick performance boost with the touch of a button. The laptop also features Nvidia’s Optimus technology for automatically switching between the discrete and integrated graphics cores.

Pricing and availability
The MSI FX600 is now available for purchase from retailers like Newegg and J&R for $800.

MSI has announced a new laptop called the MSI FX400. This machine is actually the younger sibling of the previously announced multimedia monster called the FX600.

The MSI FX400 has an Intel Core i5 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M discrete graphics. It also features a Turbo Drive Engine. The notebook is equipped with a 14-inch LCD display. Other specifications include up to 500GB of HDD storage, Bluetooth and HDMI port.

No word on pricing or availability at the moment. But since MSI is known for aggressive pricing, you should be able to get a good deal.

The 15.6 inch MSI FX600 entertainment laptop has started shipping. The notebook is available in two configurations from Newegg. While the MSI FX600-002US features an Intel Core i5 450M processor and a DVD writer, the MSI FX600-003US has a slower Core i3 350M processor and a Blu-ray combo drive. Both models are priced at $799.99.

Other specifications include NVIDIA GT 325M discrete graphics with 1GB of video memory, a 1366 x 768 pixels display, 4GB of DDR3 memory and a 500GB hard drive. The FX600-002US also seems to have the NVIDIA Optimus technology and THX Surround Sound system.

The MSI FX600 has a 720p HD webcam, Ethernet LAN, 3 USB ports, 1 eSATA/USB combo port, WiFi 802.11n, 4-in-1 card reader, ExpressCard slot and HDMI and VGA outputs. It comes standard with a 6-cell battery and runs Windows 7 Home Premium.
